As part of the course, you will complete the following qualifications:

* ISA L1 Surf Instructor
* Post ISA L1 Surf Instructor Assessments & Coaching - 20 hours of post-course training under the supervision of a qualified ISA Surf Coach or Course Presenter
* ISA/ILS Ocean Safety
* ISA L2 Surf Instructor

To obtain ISA L2 certificate, you will need to complete 40 hours of post-course coaching, which you can do independently and provide proof to the ISA coach, who will grant the certificate in return.

Each participant will receive:

* Level 1/2 Surf Instructor certification
* ISA membership for 12 months
* Course materials, workbooks, and manual

Patrick (Pat) Renaud


As a successful competitive surfer in the mid-80s and 90s, won multiple South African Championship titles, secured a headlining sponsorship from Quiksilver, and competed on both national and international platforms.

With over 30 years of surf coaching and lifeguarding experience, Pat is the official ISA Course Presenter for Sri Lanka and the National Head Surfing Coach for the Surfing Federation of Sri Lanka. Pat was the Head Coach for India and led the team to the 2023 ISA World Surfing Games in El Salvador. He has also worked with and coached the Maldives Surfing Association and Surfing England.

Pat is recognized globally for his contributions to surf coaching and lifeguard training.

He is an official International Surfing Association Coach Educator / Course Presenter and a qualified Surf Lifesaving Great Britain Lifeguard Trainer / Assessor.

Pat holds the International Surfing Association L2 Surf Coach and the Academy of Surf Instructors Master Surf Coach qualifications, among many others.

He worked for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution for 17 years, leading and managing Lifeguard Training & Development for one of the biggest rescue services on the planet!
